If the legislature does not sustain Governor Hogan’s veto, Maryland businesses will face increased costs, and employees may lose their jobs or see reduced hours and benefits. That means all Marylanders will be hurt.
The General Assembly passed HB 1 with only one vote to spare in the Senate. Republicans AND Democrats voted against the bill because saving Maryland jobs and protecting businesses is a nonpartisan issue. Only 19 senators are needed to sustain the Governor’s veto. Each vote counts!
Here are the official roll call votes in the Senate
and the House. Legislators voting “Nay” stood with job creators and employees.
